Engraved Pavers at Betsy’s House
The paver project at Betsy’s House began as a fundraiser to support the ongoing restoration and maintenance of our beloved literary landmark, but it has evolved into a tangible way to commemorate and honor the community of fans who love these books.
When people visit Betsy’s House and admire the inscriptions on each brick, they are reminded of so many other lives, so many other stories. People purchase pavers for themselves or a loved one. The pavers honor groups, events, and special memories. The messages range from humorous to deeply moving. Each is a thoughtful and tangible way to ensure that we and those we care about are part of Betsy and Tacy’s legacy for generations to come.
Pavers are $100 and may be ordered here or through the mail. If you prefer to order through the mail, download and print the order form and send it with your check to the Betsy-Tacy Society, P.O. Box 94, Mankato, MN 56002.
Your paver may have up to 3 lines of engraving, with 15 characters per line (including spaces and punctuation). What would Betsy write?
A few notes about the process:
You’ll have a chance to sign off on a proof of your requested text before the paver is engraved.
Installation is dependent on the Minnesota weather. Pavers are installed once the ground has thawed (usually no earlier than June) and until it freezes again (October or November).
You’ll receive a photo of your paver after it’s installed at Betsy’s House.
As always, thank you for supporting the Betsy-Tacy Society!
