Support the Betsy-Tacy Society
How you can help sustain our work and promote our mission:
Donate a monetary gift (if you’d rather mail a check than donate online, please download our donation form and mail it to us with your donation). The Betsy-Tacy Society is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, and your donation may be tax-deductible.
Ask if your employer will match your gift! Our federal tax ID number is 41-1687744
Donate an item from our Amazon Wish List
Purchase a paver for the walkway at Betsy’s House
Volunteer! We are always looking for people to offer tours of the Betsy-Tacy Houses and work in the Shop on Saturdays from May through October (and to provide tours at other times throughout the year). You can download a Volunteer Application here.
What your dollars do:
Promote and preserve Maud Hart Lovelace’s work for current and future generations
Support ongoing restoration and preservation of the Betsy and Tacy Houses, historic literary landmarks in Mankato
Help us preserve and care for precious Lovelace artifacts
Support our events, newsletters, and programming
Assist in securing matching grants from other foundations and organizations
Membership vs. donations: Is there a difference?
Yes!
Members receive many benefits, including newsletters (the Deep Valley Sun and The Agony Column for Adult and Senior members, The Social Room for YA members, and Everything Pudding for BTT Club members), free admission to the Betsy and Tacy Houses during regular business hours, and free or discounted admission to BTS events.
Donors receive no goods or services in exchange for their gifts.
We appreciate members as part of our “Betsy-Tacy family”— they help us tell our story to others. At the same time, we rely on unrestricted donations for expenses that dues and admission fees do not cover, including our ongoing operations, newsletter production, and the restoration and preservation of two historic houses. We invite you to consider helping the BTS even more by making a tax-deductible gift today in addition to your membership fee.
